Small in size but big in personality, the Yorkshire Terrier makes a feisty but loving companion.
The most popular toy dog breed in the U.S., the “Yorkie” has won many fans with his devotion to his owners, his elegant looks, and his suitability to apartment living.
It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Yorkshire Terriers are no exception!
But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Yorkie owners must never forget.
If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Yorkie owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…
Check out the 20 Things All Yorkie Owners Must Never Forget on the next page:

I just had to put my 14 year old Yorkie to sleep. The hardest thing I have ever had to do..I love him with all my heart and he was with me steady. If I had to go out and couldn’t take him with me, I got a baby sitter. Never left alone. I will get another one later. I still have one who gets the same treatment. My friends think I am nuts and keep saying there just dog. Not to me.

Sorry for your loss 🙁 I’m the exact same with my Yorkie, I don’t like leaving her alone so she usually has a babysitter as well. People tell me the same thing that I’m nuts coz she’s a dog, but I agree with you, definitely not just a dog … She’s family.

I lost my yorkie when he was nearly 17. I sat and petted him and talked to him until he took his last breath. I have another one also. They are like your children.
