The AKC Standard describes the Rottweiler as “a calm, confident, and courageous dog with a self-assured aloofness that does not lend itself to immediate and indiscriminate friendships.”
It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Rottweilers are no exception!
But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Rottweiler owners must never forget.
If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Rottweiler owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…
Check out the 20 Things All Rottweiler Owners Must Never Forget on the next page:

I sat on the floor of my vets office with my beloved Rottie’s head in my lap.
He was 12 and he’d had a stroke.
I sat there holding him for a very long time.
My face was the only thing he saw.
My tears were pouring out of my eyes and he licked my hand one last time.
There will never be another Reese…
He was the doggie love of my life.

I loved everyday that he was with us! Kage lived to be 13 years old and it was one of the hardest things to do in my life was to have him put to sleep. Healthy heart and soul but his big$#%&!@*frame just wouldn’t hold him up anymore. Best dog any man woman or child could ever ask for!!! R.I.P. to all who has lost their loved one!

My Charlie some how broke her thigh when we were out. I stroked her face and told her i loved her and made sure she was watching me until the end. I’ll never forget her, she was one of a kind.

We had to let our beautiful, kind and loving Rottie boy, Hooch, go just before he turned 10. I held his head, put my face next to his looking into his eyes, told him we loved him and thanked him for being such an amazing friend, companion, and joy in our lives. Broke my heart into a million pieces. He was truly one of kind. But..we now have Maxx in our family..our 8 month old Rottie puppy who filled a huge hole in our hearts and lives. We got him at weeks and oh boy..what an adventure!! How can you not love these dogs?

Rotts are the best, had to put one of mine down this past feb. Due to pancreatitis, not a day goes by where we don’t think of her. She was my best companion ever, never loved a dog as much as I loved her, we had a bond like no other, her name was Miya….loved her pink toy. She’d guard it like no other. Even have her picture hung up in our home!!!

Reading all these posts just brings me to tears. It feels like yesterday that I had to put my 12 year old rottie, Chyanne, to rest due to cancer 4 years ago. She was absolutely the best dog I’ve ever had & it was an honor to have her in my life! I held her until the very end & I hope that she’s there to greet me when my time comes.
