The AKC Standard describes the Rottweiler as “a calm, confident, and courageous dog with a self-assured aloofness that does not lend itself to immediate and indiscriminate friendships.”

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Rottweiler owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

Maddie was my very best friend ever…..I miss her everyday. She saved me during a very sad time in my life. Her last walk she rolled in the snow. I was glad I was there when she left. I now have two rottie mix rescues who make me happy every day. Dogs rule.

My first Rottie also had a stroke at that age. He went down hill fast. About a week after his first stroke he had 4-5 more and it was time.
Now my clan has a new rottie

So sorry for your loss! I held my ONYX with my hand on his chest until the last beat of his heart. That was 8 years ago and still brings tears to my eyes. Nothing compares to a Rottie’s love!

Reese really was the doggy love of my life.
I had him cremated and I keep his ashes on my night stand.
I still talk to him sometimes.
I had some of my most profound conversations with him.
He was SUCH a good listener!
There will never be another Reese!!
