20 Things All Pug Owners Must Never Forget

What some call ugly others might call irresistibly cute! The Pug has turned into one of the most popular dogs in the United States.

These lovable dogs with wrinkly, short-muzzled faces and curled tails are often described as a lot of dogs in a small space.

Sometimes playful and clownish, sometimes calm and dignified, always sturdy and stable, good-humored and amiable — that is the Pug.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Pugs are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Pug owners must never forget.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Pug owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. My dad is an incredible man, who helps me to get through every single day battling with severe anxiety. He is here for me at all hours of the night, no matter what. He takes time out of his day for me and without him I don’t know what I would do without him. I absolutely love him so much and he deserves the world. The one thing that he loves more than anything, is pugs. But they are so so expensive, more than what I can afford with my new baby. If anybody knows of anyone that wants to give their pug away to a loving home, my dad is the perfect candidate, and I would love to surprise him with one. Please message me if you know of anyone <3

  2. Can I ask a pug question? My (7 or 8yrs old) seems to have a peeing problem. She pees in her bed, on carpet, on couch, etc. Here’s the thing. It doesn’t happen all the time. She does drink allot, always had, but I also take her out alot. Today, she jumped up on the couch, squatted and peed right in front of me! Is it time to take her to vet or is this behavioral? I’m at a loss because she can and often does hold her pee for hours at a time. I do see lots of pics of pugs with diapers though so I wanted to ask if it was a breed thing? Thanks for your input!

  3. #20 was one of the hardest things that I ever had to do, but I would not have done it any other way because my little pug Millie was my heart and soul and l miss her so much.

  4. My pug was put down at nearly 14 and my pug cross at 16 and z half. I was with them when it was done. Wouldn’t have had it any other way. My new pug is 3. When she eventually goes I will be there then too…its the last thing I can do for them – and actually it would be worse not to be – you need proper closure.

  5. Awww bless ya. Well the last were 14 an 16 so this one’s 3 so a good 11 yearz at least!
Important to remember though that euthenizing a dog should be done earlier rather than later. A dog should never be left to suffer.
