One of the best dogs for children of all ages, Labrador Retrievers are kindly, good-natured, and take most things in stride.
Most Labrador Retrievers are very friendly with everyone, though compared to Golden Retrievers, many Labs are just a bit more conservative with their affections.
It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Labrador Retrievers are no exception!
But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Lab owners must never forget.
If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Labrador owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…
Check out the 20 Things All Labrador Owners Must Never Forget on the next page:

We lost both our labs within 6 months of each other. It was horrible. Still break down into tears thinking about them. They are amazing dogs. We chose to honour them by fostering other labs. We ended up adopting a 5 month of yellow lab. He has brought so much joy back into our hearts.

This applies for all dogs. I miss my first dog terribly. She was only 7 and had cancer. But just by chance I was at a meet and greet for a local rescue and now have Olive, a lab/whippet mix and she opened my heart up to love again.

I HAVE to do most of these things, not just for my dog but for me as well. I talk to my dog all the time! I want to talk to them, take them everywhere I can and snuggle. And number 20, I can’t imagine not being there for my baby.

Read the book “A Dog’s Purpose” written from a dog’s point of view– it’s a poignant book from many perspectives you’ll not forget, fiction but as you read you’ll live the story as though it’s your life.
