20 Things All Labrador Owners Must Never Forget

One of the best dogs for children of all ages, Labrador Retrievers are kindly, good-natured, and take most things in stride.

Most Labrador Retrievers are very friendly with everyone, though compared to Golden Retrievers, many Labs are just a bit more conservative with their affections.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Labrador Retrievers are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Lab owners must never forget.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Labrador owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. Ivy Henning, I am so sorry for your loss. My Codette is MY HEART, she’s 11 and been by my side through thick and thin. My HEART will never be the same when the time comes to say to goodbye to her. LABS ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. I can relate. I lost my lab in November and I am still grieving for her. I have her ashes and pictures still on my Facebook and in my living room. She was my best friend. I still haven’t wiped the slobber and nose prints off the passenger side of my truck.

  3. I am on my 3rd Lab now and can’t imagine having any other kind of dog. Makes me sad that my sweet Raven is getting old and has arthritis and epilepsy. Takes meds and hope they make her feel better. But she still loves to play in her kiddie pool and acts like a puppy when she’s in it. Hope I have a lot more years with her. Couldn’t love her any more than I do!! Wish I knew why dogs and cats don’t live so long. There must be some reason and maybe someday we will have the answer when we meet at the Rainbow Bridge.

  4. This is my Harley. We’re going on his final journey right now. He’s been with me for the last 13 years but now it’s his time. Arthritis and bad hips make it too hard for him. I’ll meet ya on the other side buddy. I will miss you forever.
