20 Things All Labrador Owners Must Never Forget

One of the best dogs for children of all ages, Labrador Retrievers are kindly, good-natured, and take most things in stride.

Most Labrador Retrievers are very friendly with everyone, though compared to Golden Retrievers, many Labs are just a bit more conservative with their affections.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Labrador Retrievers are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Lab owners must never forget.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Labrador owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. Ruby is only a year old, he sleeps where he wants(he has three beds all his own), is fed twice a day plus two other snack times, always has fresh water(for him and Simon the cat), he is never alone outside, goes to the dog park at least once a day to hangout with his friends who are always happy to see him, we always talk to him, he is rarely left alone at home and we will be there for him … forever. Ruby may not be in his “forever home”, but he is with his forever family. …. by the way my list only has 19, number 12 has been ignored.

  2. My little girl, Itaska, was 17 years young when she went to the Rainbow Bridge. This was 9 months ago and I’m still struggling. She was so incredibly smart…almost human like with her love to my children and myself when I went through a divorce. She always stayed by my side and sometimes licked my tears or put both paws around my shoulders. Goodness I really miss her and so do my kids.

  3. It took me 2 years to get over one before I could get another but just couldn’t live without Labs. Only losing a child could be worse than losing a Lab When I die I want to come back as my Lab HaHa

  4. I made the mistake of not getting another Lab when my choc passed and then 7 years later I lost her I was in a fog for 2 years before I got another She is now 4 and I am going to get another before Christmas I will not have that viod again I used to get a puppy every 7 years but I can’t wait This is River she is 4
