20 Things All Labrador Owners Must Never Forget

One of the best dogs for children of all ages, Labrador Retrievers are kindly, good-natured, and take most things in stride.

Most Labrador Retrievers are very friendly with everyone, though compared to Golden Retrievers, many Labs are just a bit more conservative with their affections.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Labrador Retrievers are no exception!

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Labrador owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. Cecil Duncan please read. Touching. I feel like I lived up to the 20 things that labs need. Number one did make me sad as I always allowed Lily to get excited when she saw me as I came home, but teared up when it mentioned how our absence makes it difficult on them and I think about my hospitalizations and feel sad I was absent from her and especially you, for so long. I remember Dr. Johnson telling me (and not to be malice) but that my absence due to illness in hospital was likely affecting Lily as she aged. And if I am sad that it affected her it makes me feel incredibly sad that you, my husband had to experience my absence and continued illness. I love you and appreciate all of your support. -Sweets-

  3. We said our good byes to our beautiful Jules 3 years ago. We were so very lucky to have had such a loving, gentle, beautiful girl for 15 years. Her harness for the car is still hanging in the same spot. 🙁

  4. Agree with all of them, I love my Bella as well as the three before her who went home to God but I know we will be together again …. They are always in my heart and always on my mind
