20 Things All Labrador Owners Must Never Forget

One of the best dogs for children of all ages, Labrador Retrievers are kindly, good-natured, and take most things in stride.

Most Labrador Retrievers are very friendly with everyone, though compared to Golden Retrievers, many Labs are just a bit more conservative with their affections.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Labrador Retrievers are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Lab owners must never forget.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Labrador owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. I lost him 13 years ago and I still meet him in my dreams recurrently. Every time it is so real, I can feel his coat under the palms of my hands. I think Labradors are the true manifestation that angels actually exist.

  2. This is my beautiful lab Angelina Rosina “Angie Rose” I had her for 16 years. , 1 month and 2 days. I miss her every day. She lived the longest of all my dogs. Most only made it to 13 years old.

  3. Been through all the above with all our labs. Number 20 is the most difficult one and I dred it constantly! I spoil both our chocolate and yellow babies and know one day it will come to an end. So until that time, loving and spoiling them is the order of each and every day! They give us such happiness with all their shenanigans!

  4. number 20 brings a tear to the eye but number 17 is a worry, that dog is clearly not happy being cuddled by the wee girl. Its Ears are back & you can see the whites of its eyes which are signs of stress.

  5. So….,sad to know this. My jury is also going via this age. She is my first lab female. Her age is 13yrs. She can not walk properly. As days passing, her daily activities are also decreasing. But, I don’t want to loose her any cost. I will try to do my best for her as I can. Though, she is not having any other problem by the grace of God. So, pray for her to live long healthy life.

  6. It’s too painful to lose our furry babies. I too lost my both babies together. They were only 4,yes old. Both of my babies were my first lab ‘babies. Rather they were my home production. They born at my home. I could not explain my love & affection in words. They were amazing kids of mine.I lost them on 16th Dec. 2011my white female 4yrsold lab & my black male 4yrs old lab on 23jan. 2012. Still now, I remember them. I can never ever forget them till my last breathe in this world. Nobody can take their place in my heart & soul.I never considered them as pet. They were Luke my own babies. They understood me , accompanied me, my protector , my best companion in this world. I only hope that definitely , once more , we will be together in rainbow bridge one day & they are also waiting for me eagerly.
