20 Things All Husky Owners Must Never Forget

The Siberian Husky is a beautiful dog that is free-spirited and (usually) good-natured with everyone. He is very playful, athletic, agile, and light on his feet. He loves the great outdoors and requires vigorous exercise, especially in cool weather.

He should be taken running, hiking, and/or biking every day, always on-leash, for he is independent and born to run. If something catches his interest, he'll be gone. Teaching him to pull carts and sleds gives him a purpose in life.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Huskies are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Husky owners must never forget.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Husky owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. Yahto is 4 now,,,still needs a leash,,,allergic to his shots,,,has to have a home cooked recipe made because he can not tolerate dog food.. Has had his first taste of freedom since we bought a house and had an area fenced for him so no more limited chains for him..He’s my needy,,independent,,comedy relief talker when he wants anything…Wouldn’t trade in this handful for the life of me,,,I need him and he needs me…

  2. I adopted and older husky mix and didn’t have her for too long for barely two years. But her$#%&!@*made her special and I have to agree #20 brought me to tears. Brings back memories of laying on the floor with her sleeping with her because the end was near and even when it came to the vet to do what we knew must be I was on the floor with her at the vet. I’ve had so many pets in my life but she had such personality I did everything I could for that dog. For someone to turn her in I can even fathom how that was even possible. All I can imagine is something had to happen to her family because she was an incredible dog and I feel blessed that got her.

  3. My husky is my dream come true. I wanted one my whole life. I finally got my Loki almost two years ago. He has stolen my heart, and I don’t know what I’d do without him. I’m so proud of him. He is hands down the best dog I’ve ever had.
