20 Things All Husky Owners Must Never Forget

The Siberian Husky is a beautiful dog that is free-spirited and (usually) good-natured with everyone. He is very playful, athletic, agile, and light on his feet. He loves the great outdoors and requires vigorous exercise, especially in cool weather.

He should be taken running, hiking, and/or biking every day, always on-leash, for he is independent and born to run. If something catches his interest, he'll be gone. Teaching him to pull carts and sleds gives him a purpose in life.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Huskies are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Husky owners must never forget.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Husky owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. My female lived to 16+ years. Until she was old she refused to sleep in the house, except in the summer where she needed the AC. Her absolute favorite place to sleep was in a snowbank in the Adirondacks when it was minus 25 Fahrenheit. As far as little friends, you need to be careful. Many Huskys think cats are snack items.I had to do a very structured behavioral program before we could allow her near our cat. Miss her Alpha female personality.

  2. We have 2 Siberian husky puppies boy(black) and girl(grey). They are both 13 weeks old, healthy and very active*)
    We asking fee $350

  3. I have been with almost all my dogs at the end because we both need each other until that time. I have one that I lost through divorce and she is a Service Dog I trained for him and I hate it when I hear she is not being taken care of like she should be. I now have a Service Dog for myself and I carry insurance on her and when she goes she will be cremated and when I pass her ashes will be mixed with mine as will all my Service Dogs in the future that I have. My girl is a Husky Mix and I could not ask for a better one or more beautiful than her inside and out.

  4. So true. My 1st girl Nikki I had for 17 years and I stayed with her when I had to put her down. My Lacy that I have now is so different from Nikki and I am so blessed to have owned a Husky and still do. They are wonderful dogs and I would not want anything else!!

  5. This is for dog owners, I am not sure how much it is for husky owners.
Husky owners know that 2, 5, 13, 15 do not apply.
2 – They do not need time to understand. They understand fast, they just do not care!
5 – When it is bad weather, they do not want to be in, they want to be outside and play under the rain and get muddy.
13- They NEVER want time alone. They are pack dogs.
15 – They don’t want to learn new things, they want to run and destroy and have fun with you and all the family.
