The Siberian Husky is a beautiful dog that is free-spirited and (usually) good-natured with everyone. He is very playful, athletic, agile, and light on his feet. He loves the great outdoors and requires vigorous exercise, especially in cool weather.

He should be taken running, hiking, and/or biking every day, always on-leash, for he is independent and born to run. If something catches his interest, he'll be gone. Teaching him to pull carts and sleds gives him a purpose in life.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Huskies are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Husky owners must never forget.

    My huskies had a full and good life. They did a lot of things. Camping,fishing, boating, a warm house and a comfy couch. Had there own cat,who bossed them around. Loved my pet kids.

    This is my girl princess boo
    She’s so well trained can even walk her off lead, Shes inside dog and loves to cuddle we go for long walks and sometimes we go to the beach! My life without her would never be the same, she’s my bestfriend and my soul mate! I love her like my own child, she gets groomed every 6-7 weeks and is spoilt to the max!!!

    This is my girl meika. Huskies are amazing. I have always dreamed about owning one. After my husky mix lady died. And my husband surprised me with this beautiful girl. I fell so in love with her the min a laid eyes on her. She is amazing.

    Mike Bouvier, I am so sorry for your loss. I loss my boy 13 yrs ago, there is no love like the love of a husky! I think about him all the time. I recently had to put my boxer down, and one of the last things I told her was to go play with Max until we meet again. They are such Amazing Family members!

    Anna Brumley thank you. It’s been just about two weeks and I just can’t stop thinking about Max and wanting him to rest his chin on my lap for ear rubs. It’s the little things that I miss so much. We had such a bond over so many years. It’s nice to hear from folks that truly understand being a husky owner and what it’s like to lose one. Sorry about your boxer too. Peace to our puppies way up in the sky!!!

    My huskies are amazing. Soft, gentle and loving and full of fun. I just wish that the ownets of usually small dogs would read this as it is so sad that we cannot use our local field anymore due to abuse to me and my dogs being kicked by several nasty individuals because they dont want ‘those dogs’ near theirs. They are well trained and inquisitive. They love to play and run. They HAVE NEVER NEVER EVER hurt or harmed anything. Ingnorant people hurt me and my lovelly dogs. We do have loads of fun though, exploring the coastal paths. Just because they look loke wolves doesnt mean a thing.

    Sara Kunesch I’m so sorry you had only 5 years with Dooley. As tough as it is for me personally, I really do appreciate our 16 years with Max. I cannot imagine how difficult it must have been to lose him so young. What a beautiful boy. Those guys must really be somewhere special.

    How are you walking her? Do you use a head collar, harness or just normal collar? I used reward training with boo so all they are concerned about is the yummys in your pocket, also when she starts pulling heaps make her stop listen to you and stay there until she behaves then continue your walk.. But being 8 months old they will just want to go play with anything they see..

    Have you started recall training? I taught boo recall by getting a very long lead i used a lunging lead they are used for horses but i found it sooo helpful for recall, but again reward training..

    In reward training use her favorite treat, toy and your voice.. I hope this helps you xx
