We may dole out treats to our dogs, but they give us the biggest treat of all: health, happiness, and years of slobbery kisses.

Loyal, protective, and always happy to see you, dogs have been human companions for more than 18,000 years, making them one of the first domesticated animals in history.

As a dog lover myself, there is no doubt in my mind that having a dog brings many upsides to my life. I mean, how can I NOT live happily waking up to a smiley face and wagging tail?

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, ain’t that the truth!

    My 14 yr old baby went to the bridge 2 weeks ago. I sat and rocked and kissed on his journey to the bridge. My heart is really broken but he felt my love till the end, I miss him so. Rest in peace my love I will see you again.

    Snicker and Wolfgang are my rescue dachshunds, and I love them more each day. Wolfgang is 12 and getting some health issues, so he sits by me ever night. He puts his paw on my leg so if I move he will wake up. I need them more than they need me.

    I don’t understand how some people can be so mean to their animals. I love my Angel so much more than I ever dreamed possible. She is my first dog that I have had in the house. She sleeps cuddled up in my bosom every night and I love her so much. I dread the day when she will have to leave me and you can bet that I will be holding her when she takes that last breath. She is family.

    Definitely a think pugsy gets treat better than ya dad most the time lol. We will have to take the pooches out together when it’s nice cos he doesnt really get to see other dogs other than when we passing them out on a walks xx

    How wonderful of you and all others that give older dogs love and care knowing are own heartache will come more quickly possibly having added expense but with all of this putting their needs ahead at a time when they need it. You are a lively person and no doubt Brutus loves you dearly.
