Boxers are silly, sweet and mischievous. They clown around with family and friends, are patient and playful with children, but show a deliberate and wary face to strangers, responding with unmatched courage to anything that threatens their loved ones. Those characteristics are why people love them.
It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Boxers are no exception!
But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Boxer owners must never forget.
If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Boxer owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…
Check out the 20 Things All Boxer Owners Must Never Forget on the next page:

I love my boy…hes been my best friend for almost 10yrs…him and his brother Tobi before have gotten me through some really tough patches. In hard days where im mad or upset all i had to do was come home and see that face that says i missed u and i feel better. Hes starting to show his age now…sleeps alot and bad hips…but he still gets up to greet me with that face even tho i make it up a few more stairs now…cant imagine my life without his calming influence in it.

Going through the exact same thing. JJ hasn’t been able to use her hind legs for over a year and it’s starting to affect her front legs now. We just put her bestie down this past week, our 16+ year old pit bull.

Yep, that last one did me in! One of the saddest days in my life was that final ride to the vet with my sweet Hannah. That was 6 years ago, and I still tear up when I think about that day, and I miss that sweet girl every day. One day, I will have to do it again with my boys, Tank and Diesel, and my little spaniel, Katie. Until then, I will just continue to love them and give them the best I can. They deserve the best loving they can get ❤

Cherish EVERY day Jason, and remember what the article said about how especially sensitive they are, even a word spoken in anger (and not being their fault, just a bad day for you) at them can send your buddy into a spiral. LOTS of LOVE every day and that guy (or gal) will DOUBLE the return! I PROMISE!!! Have fun making memories, they’re what carry you on….

Brian Miller , yeah it’s sad because she’s not in pain, she’s happy & playful, but once it effects her from legs there’s just no way to take of her. I’m grateful she’s been okay this long(she hasn’t been able to use her hind legs for well over a year). I’m just trying to spend as much time as I can with, especially because we just had to put our other dog down a free days ago who was her buddy. Sitting on my porch with monkey as we speak..

My boxer girl had lung cancer at nine years of age. It came the time I had to choose to have her put down. She fought hard and always fought to be with me but i can see the pain and discomfort she was in, it was time. I asked my vet to come to my house to do it and she did. We had a great weekend, I spoiled her best I could and when the time came we sat together in my arms and she peacefully went to sleep. She made eye contact with me in her very last moment and her ears went down and expressed happiness in her final moment. I miss hervery much. Life just hasn’t been the same without her.
