20 Things All Boxer Owners Must Never Forget

Boxers are silly, sweet and mischievous. They clown around with family and friends, are patient and playful with children, but show a deliberate and wary face to strangers, responding with unmatched courage to anything that threatens their loved ones. Those characteristics are why people love them.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Boxers are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Boxer owners must never forget.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Boxer owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. I hope to god my Nellie (2 years old) lives to be twelve! Sounds like you made the right choice, and I am sure Zoe is doing a boxer burn all throughout doggie heaven.

  2. I now have my 4th boxer since 1955. Every time I lose one I think I will not get another but now I have rescued an 81 pound male Joe The Boxer, How can you resist?

  3. This is my Reba. I was blessed to have her 12 years. I had to put her down Sept. 23, 2013. Her ashes sit proudly in an oak box on my fireplace. I still miss my Reba and still cry over her. She was one of a kind. We were looking into each other’s eyes that dreadful day and she also gave me “the Look” that it was okay. R.I.P. my baby, best friend and my love. I miss you. I will see you at the Rainbow Bridge.

  4. They do miss their friend when you have to let them go. When Missie passed her daughter was so depressed we had to get her companion…we got Phoebe a month and a day after Missie Moo passed….the difference in Ruby was lovely to see and Phoebe ruled the roost and took over from where Missie left off….i miss my girls so much…

  5. Sorry for your loss, all of you, my Buzz, my best friend, knew all my secrets, after 13y of devotion passed in his sleep a year and half ago. I think of him often and miss him awful. I wish i could afford to rescue one, Living alone he was my shadow and each night, as i crawled in bed, he touched my foot with his nose, made his rounds through his home then came back to ly next to me for the night. He had such a heart.

  6. Buster to would check out house and if I was sick never left my side. Buster always made me laugh especially when sad and after kids all left home it was him and I . Saying goodbye to him destroyed me but I had to let him go.

  7. I Think all these things are important for any dog but with that being said i have 3senior sisters now that are my heart and soul . WE LOST THERE MOM APRIL 23,2015 IT WAS AND STILL IS TO GO THREW THE DAYS WITHOUT MY BABY SNICKERS SHE MENT AND STILL MEANS THE WORLD TO US … I DID NOT NEEDTO MAKE THE DECISION A LOT OF PEOPLE NEED TO MAKE HER VET WAS MANAGING HER PAIN AND HER AND I FELL A SLEEP ON THE COUCH I HAD HER ON MY CHEST …THAT MORNING SHE NEVER GOT BACK UP I AM HAPPY SHE PASSED KNOWING HOW MUCH I LOVE AND ADORED HER… Until we meet again my little princess Mommy and Daddy with your girls love and miss you with each passing second of everyday

  8. Our pup, Willie, was diagnosed with cancer at 12-1/2. We lost her in 3 days .. before we could absorb what was happening or make any arrangements. It breaks my heart to think we may have been oblivious to the pain she may have been in. But my experience with Boxers has shown that they will do anything just to be with you. I believe that once she was diagnosed and that we were aware of it, she knew it was okay to go. This happened 13 years ago and it still tears me up. Here’s to all of you who have loved and lost a Boxer ……….
