20 Things All Boxer Owners Must Never Forget

Boxers are silly, sweet and mischievous. They clown around with family and friends, are patient and playful with children, but show a deliberate and wary face to strangers, responding with unmatched courage to anything that threatens their loved ones. Those characteristics are why people love them.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Boxers are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Boxer owners must never forget.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Boxer owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. I have to 2 boxers myself, I have a fawn Toby who just turned 4 and Lexie who is a Brindle and she just turned one. I had tears with #20 breaks my heart to even thing of them leaving this world, we have had so much fun and so many memories i love my babies more then anything, and to everyone who has lost there babies i am sorry for your loss.

  2. Our last boxer Kirsty was 13 when we lost her and it broke our hearts but after a month we had Marcus he is 8 now and struggling a bit on his back legs but still like a run with his ball on the beach…and he is so loving…can’t beat a boxer lovely dogs 🙂

  3. Dont think i could ever have a different breed…Boxers are the dogs for me…im on my own n out at work all day so it would be unfair to get another at the moment…..but im always hoping x

  4. #20 Got to me aswell… I was on vacation in las vegas the day after my birthday when my first girl passed from a brain aneurism. It will kill me til the end of time I wasnt with her to comfort her in her final hours. She was so happy and healthy when I left. I love her so much. I took her everywhere that I could with me… I really wanted to bring her with me on that trip but planet hollywood only allows dogs under 47 pounds there, and she weighed 57. My family told me she barked really loud and they came out at 348am to see what was going on and she was sprawled out on the floor with her little arms and legs out convulsing looking like she was trying to get up… With where she was I can only imagine she was trying to make it somewhere I could see her from upstairs because she was found where she normally looked up at me from down stairs… I can only think that little bark she gave was a cry for me to come help… It kills me to think about. My dad was able to facetime me and I was just so upset I couldnt be there with her… That I couldnt hold her. The amount of depression I feel is profound. I told her I love her and that I wished to god I could be there so bad… I just hope she could even understand me. Shelby battled with cancer over he past 4 years of her life and even after 9 tumors she still always bounced back so strong… Shelvy never stopped being a puppy til the day she passed.. I had in someway always hoped it was something like a bad hip or something that slowed her down gradually and that id get to say goodbye in my time… I guess Shelby just didnt want me to see her go threw that in person.. I will miss you until the end of time girl.

  5. We miss our girls
They were an always will be members of our family
Lost our boy November playing again with the love of his life Bonnie
Run free until we all meet again
    Gone but not forgotten

  6. Cassie Price Carnes strange that it’s affecting him now at 7 years, because i’m thinking an allergy of some sort (BUT as humans, we can be immune to something today, allergic tomorrow). With Zoe’ it was CORN! ANY (and i do mean ANY corn or corn by-product would welt her up something fierce). So check your boy’s diet for that, beyond that if you DON’t have corn in his diet, have your vet run an allergy test like they do with humans so you can find what sets him off…….oh just forgot, she was fond (tho later very NOT fond) of nipping at bees, she could pop one of them and WHAMMO, 12 rounds with Tyson, eyes swollen shut, the who shebang!! Hope this helps!

  7. 20 was hard for our three labs who all passed of age and cancer. We have a 3 year old boxer rescue and she thinks she’s more human than our labs did. She thinks she’s a lap dog and she’ll put her face in front of ours until we let her give us a kiss. She makes Chewbacca noises to when she’s excited. I wish technology and science would find a way to let them live an extra ten years or so in a healthy state of course. 🙁

  8. When we had to put our boxer down, my husband made me leave so his grandfather could do it and we could take the kids home. I will never forgive him for that. We spent the whole day with Bo and had to leave him in his final moments. He was selfish. He didn’t want the vet to put him down and then we have to take him to his final resting place. I told him if he ever did it that way again, I would shoot him myself.
