Considered dogdom’s finest all-purpose workers, the German Shepherds are large, agile, muscular dogs of noble spirit and high intelligence.
There are many reasons why GSDs stand in the front rank of canine royalty, but breed experts say their dogs’ most important attribute is character:
…loyalty, courage, confidence, the ability to learn and retain commands for an amazing number of specialized jobs, and the willingness to put their life on the line in defense of loved ones.
While there are a ton of reasons why German Shepherds are so beloved by humans, there are reasons to believe that German Shepherds are actually the worst dog breed to live with… EVER!
Check out the 19 reasons why German Shepherds are actually the worst dogs to live with on the next page!

I have my 3rd GSD -6 I’ve been associated with. My Zoey is 11 – a diva when I got her & a diva now. Wouldn’t have her any other way. They are the best breed but you have to find a quality kennel. All of my girls have been amazing. But the kennel has been their foundation.

I have my first GS, he’s 8 weeks old and I love him to death but I’m having a lot of problems with him. I will take him out plenty times a day and he also had a doggie door but he does not like to be outside unless he decides he wants to be out there and no matter how long he’s outside he will not use the restroom, he will come back in and pee and poop in the house. He knows that he’s supposed to go outside but he won’t. I know he’s smart because he already sits and shakes but refuses to be potty trained. When we first got him he was very little, 3 weeks old, his mom died so we had to baby him, he slept in the bed but at 5 weeks I started putting him in his doggy bed and he barks every night for an hour or until he’s to tired to continue. When he pees and poops in the floor he will lay in it…. I’m just very confused. I’ve never seen a dog act the way that he does. He’s so adorable and my husband and I were so excited about getting him but we are just having so many problems. Can anyone help me, give me advice or anything?

Yea, they want your food, but won’t share there’s, the cover everything you own with their hair, takeover the couch, your bed and invade your personal space. Take them out running and they out run you every day. You will never need an alarm clock, even on your day off you get wet soggy kisses and sometimes they will pull the duvet away. But I won’t have it any other way.
