Ask any dachshund owner and they'll all tell you, without exception, that there’s no other dog worth owning. Dachshunds are not only one of the most popular breeds in America, but also one of the most loved today.

But why are these Sausage dogs (a.k.a. Weiner dogs, Doxies, Dashies, etc.) so popular today? Is it their irresistible sausage body, stubby legs and waving tails? or their bravery and loyalty to their humans?

The stubborn characteristics of dachshunds (making them a little difficult to train) can be traced back to those days spent learning and evolving into being great underground hunters. If they were easily swayed, they couldn’t have survived.

    I had two a Black and Tan short hair and a red shirt hair, miss both of them. When the time is right I want another Dachshund, very stubborn but the most loyal and loving dog I’ve ever had!

    Horrible creatures, and I would not live a minute WITHOUT them! I love my doxies now and the ones before them, they are naughty and loud and they love you for all the days of their life’s.

    U must be do happy with them around. They may be the most stubborn breed ever but the love they have for you is more than u could ask for. I cant upload a pic on fb but hes a black and tan weiny who is 16 and he is my pal friend and my care taker love ur photo they are perfect
