12 Realities New Pug Owners Must Accept

As many existing Pug owners will tell you, pugs are a lot like big dogs that are trapped in small bodies.

pug-cute-puppy-eyes.jpgThey love to run around, play, have fun and are won’t back down from a fight despite their small size.

Pugs are clever and energetic little guys that can be quite a handful. They love getting attention and will pull off crazy stunts just to get some laughs from their human friends.

They are great at reading human emotions and can use what they know for their benefit. These clever dogs will use whatever they can to their advantage and will take over your household if you let them.

Overall they are adorable little guys that would make amazing pets for the right owners.

If you are considering to own a pug, or you've just become a new pug owner, there are some realities you do need to fully accept.

  1. Our Sugar is such a big part of our lives…such a spoiled little pug that needs her doggie stroller instead of a walk! She sheds like crazy, gets eye buggers, snorts, farts, gets kidney stones, has allergies, needs prescription food and constant fold cleanings but she is still awesome and sweet.

  2. Had our first Pug in Australia known in New York as Thunder from down under ,Thank you New York Pug people .Next two part pugs ,The girl is such a worker ,get the bike out where’s the chain saw ,still sitting on the four wheeler in the rain asking ‘why have we stopped working .The other is a bit more urban …walks on pavement and socialising with coffee and a chat …..love them both .

  3. We spent the night with some friends last night. She has never done that before. She sat on the edge of the bed for about an hour after we laid down staring at the door and constantly sniffing. Her protectiveness was so cute!! Then she came and smooshed between my bf and I farted and began snoring. I absolutely love my baby girl.

  4. We have been lucky with our black pug. He is a rescue, but was a surrender due to homelessness. Thank goodness the guy gave him up and we got him the first day. He is a wonderful boy. Only problem is his endless appetite and weight problem. Love pugs.
