The Jack Russell Terrier is a small dog with a particularly big attitude. When people talk of a small dog with a big dog attitude most of the time they are referring to this spunky terrier whose roots are in fox hunting.
While it may be a small dog the Jack Russell is a very adept hunting dog and uses its small size to its advantage. Despite this fact, however, it has earned a place in hearts of dog lovers everywhere.
One impressive aspect of the Jack Russell breed is their intelligence and this is one trait for which they are renowned.
They are often used in Hollywood films and commercials due to their high trainability and in general the breed also thrives on the intellectual stimulation it receives from being trained.
If you are considering to own a jack russell terrier, or you’ve just become a new jack russell owner, there are some realities you do need to fully accept.
Check out the twelve realities new jack russell terrier owners must accept on the next page! …and if you already are a jack russell owner, see if you can relate!

I love Jack Russells. Our Bassett hound died 18 months ago and I’m getting the baby blues for another fur baby. We have two cats, one of which does not accept change very well. I have researched dogs that et alon best with cats. I really like short haired dogs and really want a smaller dog. First consideration has to be the cats and their right to a decent life without too much conflict…..A JR might drive them crazy..the Bassett was sweet till we were out of sight then he’d chase…
