The dog they have all chosen to represent their tough, tenacious characters. That dog? Why, it's the Bulldog, of course!

It descended from fighting mastiffs that were brought to the British Isles by the Romans and was used in a bloody sport called bullbaiting.

Today, however, the Bulldog only slightly resembles his ancestors in appearance. And all of the ferociousness that he exhibited in the bullbaiting pens? Gone for good.

Despite his still ferocious appearance, you'd be hard-pressed to find a dog with a sweeter, more loving disposition. They are friendly, social, calm, balanced, compassionate, stubborn, proud and persevering.

    I have two bulldogs and they have been absolute blessings in our lives.The best personalities. . They do rule our house , but with all the laughs and love they give us its all worth whatever they do..Best breeds!!

    First of all, you may think that you are the owner and the king, but in reality I am the owner and king. I adore you but I am still the king. Secondly, the king loves to play and sleep. Do not deprive me of these essential things. Thirdly, I am totally wacky. If you can’t get with the agenda than I’d rather not have you as my subject. Fourthly, can you cuddle with the best of them? Five, don’t dare leave me at home when you go gallivanting about. Six, feed me first. Seven, su casa es mi cases including your bed! Eight, don’t every yell at me, I am very sensitive. Nine, your baby is my baby too. Ten, please do not invade my space when I am napping. Eleven, no cats! Twelve, I do adore you.

    I have an olde english.. he’s funny he’s stinky he’s gasy he drools all over.. and I love every min of it.. he makes life fun.. they are spunky and they are out going and they are the best cuddlers.. I wouldn’t trade my bully for any other breed.. the only down fall to him is he chews EVERYTHING… other then that he’s my comical reliefe.. #bulliemomforlife
