Owner Dumped Giant “Dog” Coz He Grew Too Large & He Was Put Up To Be Euthanized

Yuki is not your typical dog. He is in fact a 12-year-old wolf dog who is 87.5 percent gray wolf, 8.6 percent Siberian Husky, and 3.9 percent German Shepherd.

When he was a puppy, his owner purchased him from a breeder and loved to have him around. But soon, the owner couldn’t handle Yuki’s growing size and decided to dump him.

And just like that, Yuki ended up at a high kill shelter where he was looked down upon for his dominant wolf DNA.

Yuki was heartbroken at the sudden turn of events, and just wanted to go back home. But the shelter staff thought it would be better to euthanize this giant dog soon.

When the workers at Shy Wolf Sanctuary in Naples, Florida, heard about Yuki, they knew the dog deserved a second chance.

The sanctuary focuses on rehabilitating such hybrid “pets” who are cruelly tossed aside by their owners. So they immediately rescued Yuki and brought him to his new home.

Yuki took some time adjusting to his new surroundings. But thanks to the sanctuary’s custom care regime, the wolf dog blossomed into a happy pooch within the next few months.

He has developed a goofy personality and always loves to “pose for pictures” or “show off his charm” in front of visitors!

The workers believe that people should do their research before adopting exotic breeds of animals.

Wolf dogs might have the instinct of wolves, but their dog DNA makes them very social and affectionate. They yearn for human acceptance and get upset at rejection.

Yuki is thriving well in his new home along with a host of other animals like him.

Although the sanctuary is located in a cramped piece of land, the volunteers work hard to provide adequately for every animal under their care.

We wish them good luck!
