The doctor, with a clear head and a big heart, wanted to see if he could save Deepak but knew it would be a challenge.
Three of his limbs were crushed and needed amputation. However, he knew that dogs could overcome adversity and felt it was worth a try.

The doctor performed emergency surgery. The sooner this happened, the quicker Deepak could begin to heal. The surgery lasted a whopping 5 hours.
Now it was a matter of getting Deepak on the other side. He survived the surgery but would he survive infection and whatever else may come his way?
It took 6 months of hard work. The medical team and volunteers made sure Deepak didn’t suffer. He had pain medication when needed and lots of love and affection on demand.
His transformation is incredible!

Deepak, like his other doggy friends, receives hydrotherapy. In the pool, he can strengthen his body without putting too much weight on spots that still need to heal. He loves being in the water, chasing his favorite ball and working out those muscles.

Because of his injuries, Deepak will spend the rest of his life living in the Animal Aid sanctuary. He is surrounded by other dogs like him.
They too are missing limbs but still have a zest for life. Deepak is living proof that with a strong heart, and love all around you, anything is possible.
