Husky Ate Rocks & Trash To Survive While Owner Kept Her Outside In Muddy Cage

A dog was rescued from an awful situation of neglect at a Scioto County home by Sierra’s Haven volunteers and deputies from the Scioto County Sherriff’s Office.

Five-year-old Blossom was kept in an outdoor cage, which was stuck deep in mud.

It took deputies nearly five minutes just to pull the cage out of the ground. Blossom nudged at the bottom of the fence, trying to break free since she knew they were trying to get her out.

When they brought her to the vet, x-rays revealed that Blossom had ingested rocks, wrappers and other foreign objects, due to being starving.

“She was five steps from his door to give her food,” Chrystal Brown of Sierra’s Haven told WSAZ. “He couldn’t even give her food.”

Blossom is supposed to weigh around 60 pounds, but only weighs 38 pounds. The staff at the animal hospital will continue to feed her small meals until she’s able to safely digest her food and regain weight.

Once Blossom is fully recovered, she’ll be up for adoption, but she may have already found a home.

The deputy who is in charge of her case has expressed interest in adopting her!
