Severely Injured Dog Rescued From Fighting Gets His First Warm Bath

The story of Rambo, the warrior dog will likely break your heart into a million pieces.

The way he was discovered was a fortunate stroke of serendipity. A real estate agent named Casey Lawrence was about to show a property that day but she ended up taking a wrong turn.

Instead, she found herself at a place that resembled a dumping ground for dog fighters. She was disgusted by the sight of animal bones and carcasses. But then, she noticed a dog that was still alive.

Unfortunately, his leg couldn’t be saved. They had to amputate it, after which he was moved to Charlotte Animal Referral & Emergency (CARE) for further treatment.

Rambo is out of surgery and recovering well. We had to amputate his right hindlimb at the level of the ankle. The left…

Rambo has all the support he needs. The organization Every Life Matters Animal Rescue where the realtor Casey is a board member is there for Rambo. They wrote the following update on YouCaring after Rambo’s first surgery: “He’s been very out of it today from the anesthesia but he knows you’re there, when you leave he puts his paw up for you to come back.”

As Rambo is gathering strength and is going through the process of recovery, his rescuers make sure the police investigates the dumping ground and tracks down the cruel people who use dogs for fighting and as baits. We hope they’ll end up behind bars and won’t harm another dog.
