“A picture is worth a thousand words … and Ritter is no different,” is the caption that accompanied a heartbreaking photo on Facebook. Poor Ritter was dumped at the shelter, someone snapped a photo, and he broke the hearts of dog lovers in a viral post.
The four-year-old American Bulldog displayed his angst in the sad image. Clearly, this sweet boy needs a place to heal, someone he can love and who will share love in return.

The Humane Society for Hamilton County in Indiana also posted Ritter’s picture to Instagram and wrote, “This is the reality our animals face every day – Heartbreak and a sense of hopelessness.”
The loving pup hangs his head low, his mourning apparent, as he feels totally alone, forgotten, and unloved. Thanks to the power of social media and over 3,000 shares, things were about to change for Ritter.

After sharing the image, that very same evening, he found a forever home. Thank goodness for caring people who step up to help animals in need.
