Puppy Who Was Violently Thrown From Truck Finally Finds Happiness After Healing

A tiny innocent puppy was thrown out of a pickup truck in Anderson County, South Carolina. Animal control officers came to rescue the pup and called up the organization Boxer Butts & Other Mutts for help.

The organization’s founder, Heidi Schermerhorn-Wagner, saw the puppy, now named Callie, and her heart broke into a million pieces. When asked to take this puppy in, Heidi did not even hesitate.

She came to pick up the pup, who was in awful condition. Heidi recalls the car ride after picking her up. Callie laid there shaking, with every rib sticking out, and skin that was bloody and so hot that she had to keep switching arms while holding her because it felt like she was being burned.

The vet that examined her said she had the worst case of mange that she’s seen in 30 years; she didn’t even look like a puppy.

But despite everything she had been through, she proved to be a fighter. After getting the necessary treatment and TLC, her hair began to grow back and her personality started to shine. She was actually very playful and full of energy.

When she was first rescued, she was shy and would cower down just from someone talking to her. But as time went on, she learned to trust humans again and embrace their love.

Luckily, one family fell in love with Callie and decided to adopt her! The Conover family is head-over-heels for Callie and are giving her the second chance she’s always deserved.

“Whoever tossed her out of that vehicle in the shape she was in for sure did not deserve the love this special little girl has to give and now she has a family to call her own and 2 little boys that keep her plenty busy,” Heidi said on Facebook.
