A tiny Chihuahua named Mia was brought to a local animal hospital in a dying state. She was just skin and bones, while a bacterial infection called “Pyometra” was slowly killing her from the inside. The vet performed emergency surgery on her and waited for her recovery.

The vet noticed that Mia’s owner was particularly abusive and neglectful. When the doctors requested for an emergency transfusion to save Mia’s condition from worsening, the owner sneakily stole her away from the hospital, without paying for her surgery or medical bills.
However, it was the concern for Mia’s safety that made the vet and staff request help from the San Jose Animal Services. When the officers visited Mia’s owner, they found that Mia had grown even more lethargic and weak, and her cruel owner had no intentions of helping her.

Mia was seized from her owner and brought to the hospital for emergency care. After several days on life-saving medication, Mia’s condition improved, but the emaciated Mia still had no appetite. Finally, the nurses discovered that Mia would eat only when hand-fed.

The hospital staff spent the next few weeks attending to Mia’s every need. Soon, she gained back her health and even started showing her adventurous and fun-loving personality. Mia went on many trips with her foster family, who fell in love with the spunky pooch. They eventually decided to keep the precious girl forever! What a perfect ending for sweet Mia!
