In the middle of the Serbian countryside, a Good Samaritan discovered a dog on the side of the road. The old girl was malnourished, weak, and afraid…but she waited so patiently for a human to come along and save her.
Thankfully, Pawsitive Rescue was able to locate the senior German Shepherd mix and figure a way to get her home.

It was unclear how long the dog was left alone in the wilderness, but given her condition, it must have been quite a while. She was terrified of her rescuers at first, but still let them approach her with a makeshift leash.
She didn’t want to be left alone in the forest any longer — and allowed the kind humans to take her home.

Once she arrived at the rescue, she was given a medical exam and routine blood tests. Most importantly, the sweet girl was given a warm, filling meal (probably the first one she’s had in weeks).
She eagerly accepted the food, but still kept to herself, unsure of her rescuers or their dogs.

Pawsitive Rescues named her Azra. Slowly but surely, her fear melted away and she began to trust the humans that brought her to a safe place. She began accepting treats from their hands and happy head scratches.
Soon enough, this senior pup found a forever home! Her transformation is incredible — instead of being filled with despair, Azra only has happy smiles to share now!

Azra won’t have to spend another day alone in the wild, fending for herself. Instead, she will be able to rest her aching joints on soft dog beds and enjoy delicious meals every day.
Kudos to the kind souls that took it upon themselves to rescue Azra from her dusty home in the woods. Thanks to them, this old girl will be able to experience love and happiness for the rest of her days!
