Howl Of A Dog rescuers spotted an abandoned dog on the side of a busy road with speeding traffic in Romania.
They pulled alongside the dog, who initially barked at rescuers, but at the same time, he was still wagging his tail, so it was obvious that he was curious.
When rescuers got out of the car, the dog went right up to them and seemed happy to finally see people who noticed him.

Rescuers tried to gain his trust with some food so that he wouldn’t make any sudden movements and run into traffic.
They named him Mowgli, ‘a little dog in a big jungle.’
Rescuers knew they had to act quickly because a bad storm was approaching. Mowgli would have been roaming the streets all alone in awful weather, so the timing of this rescue was truly meant to be!

They brought Mowgli back to their shelter, where they fed him and gave him lots of TLC. The vet scanned for a microchip, but he didn’t have one.
It was at the shelter that he finally realized that these people were there to help him and that he was now safe.
Mowgli is estimated to be around eight years old, and while he is a senior dog, he still has the spirit of a puppy. He is very energetic and loves to play; he’s always wagging his tail and always has a smile on his face.

Mowgli is now searching for his forever home. Although he’s under Howl Of A Dog’s care in Romania, he can be adopted internationally to the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
