Man Takes Shepherd To Self-Service Pet Wash Station & Punches Him Repeatedly

A Rochester man has been arrested after he was seen on surveillance video abusing a German Shepherd mix inside the self-service pet bathing area in a Henrietta Country Max store in New York.

A customer who witnessed the incident alerted store employees who then watched the video footage and immediately alerted Lollypop Farm Humane Law Enforcement Department.

The video showed 54-year-old Michael Meyer punching the dog multiple times in the washroom.

Police were unable to locate Meyer at his address on record, but Humane Law Enforcement Investigators finally found him after receiving a tip through 911.

Meyer now faces charges of overdriving, torturing and injuring an animal, and could lead up to a $1,000 fine and/or up to a year in prison.

“This type of violence against a family pet is not something we can tolerate in our community,” said Lollypop Farm Vice President for Law Enforcement Reno Di Domenico.

“We are grateful to the patrons and store employees who reported this crime and the Good Samaritan who sent in the tip that made it possible to bring this animal abuser to justice.”

Thankfully the dog is OK and has been removed from Meyer’s custody.
