Couple Builds Giant Bed So All 8 Of Their Rescue Dogs Can Sleep With Them

Our dogs aren’t just pets, they are part of the family. So why shouldn’t they get to sleep on a comfy bed just like we do?

There have even been several studies that show that women sleep better next to dogs than they do next to humans!

But when you have more than one dog, it may be a little difficult to sleep next to your pups, since your bed only allows so much room.

For Chris and Mariesa Hughes, sleeping comfortably became a struggle because they slept with not just one dog, but all eight of their rescue dogs!

They knew there had to be a way to accommodate all of their beloved pups without kicking them off the bed every night, so they came up with a genius idea.

The couple, who resides in Clifton Park, New York, hired Mike Ford, a dog-loving furniture maker, to build the “mega-bed,” a massive bed that took six months to build, which has two mattresses combined.

The top bed is a king size mattress and the mattress below is a full size turned sideways. The headboard is six feet tall with cute little hand-carved paw prints on it.

The bed also has drawers that slide out from the side, as well as built-in stairs to help the older dogs get onto the bed.
