Owner Dumps Pit Bull In Freezing Cold, Ties Him To Fence & Drives Off

A heartless owner took a Pit Bull to the Louisville Metro animal shelter in Kentucky. Though this sounds like an everyday occurrence, the way the person dropped the dog off is disturbing.

Video surveillance cameras captured the exact moment a person exited a vehicle at 5 in the morning when the shelter’s gate was locked.

The person tied the pup to a fence near a fire hydrant and left behind water and food in bowls, a chew toy, a blanket, and then drove away.

Sadly, it was bitter cold and after only one hour, the dog suffered hypothermia. It was almost two hours before staff arrived and found the helpless pup. He was immediately taken to a vet for IV fluids.

“The temperature it was, leaving the dog out there like that in the cold weather, was not good for the dog at all,” Adam Hamilton, LMAS’s animal control supervisor shared.”If we wouldn’t have gotten to it when we did, there’s a chance the dog could’ve died.”

Although the person’s face is not seen on video, help is needed from the general public. This person faces two criminal charges and may face another charge of animal cruelty.

As to the dog’s outcome, he is 20 pounds underweight, lethargic, but is making improvements with each passing day.
