Neighbor Loses Vet’s Service Dog While He’s In The ICU, Massive Search Launched

Air Force Veteran Larry Peteet had fallen on some very hard times the past couple of months. Amidst his depression and acute PTSD, his only lifeline was his emotional support dog, Sandy, a Labrador Retriever, who helped him face each day.

One unfortunate day, Larry got into a car crash, and had to be admitted to intensive care. He entrusted Sandy under the care of his neighbor, and that’s when things went further downhill. When Larry came back for Sandy, he was devastated to learn that Sandy was given away!

Larry went into a frenzy at the thought of losing Sandy. He began a search for her, and even hired a pet detective to assist in his search. After 22 excruciating days of calls, appeals and fliers, Larry finally received the phone call he had been waiting for.

As it turns out, Sandy was passed on from person to person, and a man had been taking care of Sandy, thinking her to be an abandoned pet. Larry rushed to see his beloved dog, and the tear-jerking moment was caught on camera.
