Look What we JUST Discovered about Labrador Retrievers!

Outgoing, Even Tempered, Gentle, Agile, Kind, Intelligent… these are some of the words to describe a typical Labrador Retriever's temperament.

The Labrador Retriever, also known as simply Labrador or Lab, is one of several kinds of retrievers, a type of gun dog.

Few breeds so richly deserve their popularity as the Labrador Retriever. Devoted, obedient and amiable, the Lab is good with children, other dogs and other pets.

He will be a calm house dog, playful yard dog and intense field dog, all on the same day.

He is eager to please, enjoys learning and excels in obedience. He is a powerful breed that loves to swim and retrieve.

He needs daily physical and mental challenges to keep him occupied, however; a bored Lab can get into trouble.

  1. Greatest dogs ever!!! Already knew all of those facts they forgot to mention 1 very important fact though which is where labs get there names from good job I already know ! 🙂 do you ? 😉

  2. I love my labs we have I believe he is 16 years old. Never fed him expensive dog food always in the water and just this last year he showed signs of bad hips and blindness and hard of hearing. He still acts like a puppy and always wants attention but we are enjoying his time as its coming to an end.

  3. My 2 chocolates labs the one on the left is 15 years old going on 16 soon. His health has really declined and it gets worse each month. The other one is my 5 year old love bug lap dog, she was actually trying to get me to scratch her while I took the picture.

  4. My lab is all of those things. He’s an amazing Therapy Dog, constant companion, over and is gentle with the grandchildren and has always loved to learn. The one thing that wasn’t mentioned was that the first 18 months to 2 years can be quite difficult because labs have tons of energy and LOVE to chew. Best dog I have ever had.

  5. This is my lab, CHAMP Therapy Dog Newman. He is the best dog I have ever had. He is everything mentioned however, you forgot that the first 18 months to 2 years can be quite difficult. Labs love to chew and can be very active. Good training is a must. With that you will have the best dog ever.
