He Laid On Roadside Unable To Eat Or Drink From Inflicted Mangled Jaw

A poor little soul was found on the side of the road in desperate need of care. When the rescuers got closer, they could see he had a badly broken jaw.

His suffering must’ve been unimaginable. The moment he was in the rescuers’ care, though, his suffering was officially a thing of the past.

While his broken jaw prevented him from eating and drinking, his body began to break down. It was time to get that under control in a medical setting.

The puppy was brought to a loving veterinarian that never turns animals away. He was sedated so the doctor could clean his wounds and better assess what needed to be done next.

What amazed everyone was how strong and brave the little dog was despite all he had been through. Once he was made more comfortable, he took a big drink all on his own.

The vet needed to bring in a specialty surgeon since his jaw was completely separated from his mouth. It’s tough to look at but we promise he gets so much better!

His next step is surgery! The operation was a complete success. The puppy still needed time to recover and constant supervision. He also receives daily bandage changes to keep his wounds clean.

Each day, the brave pup faced his recovery with sheer determination. Soon he was able to eat soft dog food from a syringe. He got a bit possessive of his food since he remembered how hard it was to come by while living on the streets. No worries, little guy, you’ll always have a meal now!

In six days, the puppy, now named Lai, had truly transformed. He now had the energy to stand and walk. He is also wagging his tail! It may not seem like much, but it’s a huge deal. This means Lai is in a lot less pain.

Lai is so much better and we have rescuers and volunteer medical staff to thank! Soon he will be placed up for adoption and find a loving family. You can see Lai’s rescue in the video below.
