Owner Dumped Puppy Far Enough From Home So That She Couldn’t Find Her Way Back

This Pointer puppy, now named Ink, was found wandering alone in a village in Mani, Greece.

She spent days at a time hiding in bushes because she was so terrified of people. The only time she would come out of hiding was if other dogs passed by because she wanted to play with them since she was just a puppy after all.

Sadly, many of the dogs in Greece are used as hunting dogs, and when they are no longer needed or no longer seen as “fit,” they are abandoned on the mountains or in the area, very far from home so they cannot make it back.

Many of those abandoned dogs wind up dying from malnourishment or getting hit by cars. Thankfully, Ink was rescued, otherwise she would have eventually died on the streets as well.

Although Ink was terrified, she quickly warmed up to people once she realized that they were there to help her. Once she got used to the loving touch of a human, she couldn’t get enough. She had been ignored for so long that she has a lot of making up to do.

Ink, who rescuers believe is no more than eight months old, is currently living in a foster home and awaiting a forever home. If you’re interested in adopting Ink, please email support@theorphanpet.com.
