A homeless pup sought refuge on a property of a factory, but it turned out to be anything but a safe space for him.
He kept getting attacked by other stray dogs and was completely defenseless. He suffered from bite wounds all over his body, and the pain would never go away unless he got help.

Thankfully, a worker at the factory spotted him and contacted Hope For Paws for assistance.
When rescuers arrived, they found the tiny pup hiding behind bushes. He was absolutely terrified and ran away as rescuers approached him, but they refused to give up.

With a little bit of time and patience, they were finally able to grab ahold of the dog with their gentle snare. They quickly placed the leash around him as he yelped out in fear.
But once they picked him up and brought him to their car, he began to calm down. They decided to name him Hugo, and rushed him to the vet to get his wounds taken care of.

Unfortunately, upon further examination at the vet’s office, they discovered that Hugo’s wounds were very deep and infected. Due to the infection, they had to put drains in to clear the infection out.
Hugo was still very nervous, but he was cooperative, and it was obvious that he was thankful; thankful for being saved, thankful for having a warm place to sleep, and thankful that he wouldn’t have to worry about being attacked anymore.

As he continued to recover each day, he also grew less afraid and more trusting. He was finally feeling love and affection for the first time in his life.
Hugo made a full recovery and went on to live with a foster before finding a forever home.
