Mastiff Mix Puppy Found Unable to Walk Takes Inspiring First Steps

Jesse the Mastiff mix puppy was found in a Haarlem park in April 2015, someone had cut off her tail and left her there. Even worse, she could not stand up or walk and was barely able to crawl. When New York Bully Crew rescuers saw her knew they had to help her.

Jesse struggled to even crawl when they first brought her home. It was heartbreaking to see!

***WE NEED YOUR HELP!!***Just when you think things couldn't get any worse, this happened. Another case where we absolutely could not turn our backs!! We received the call about an abandoned puppy dumped in a park in Harlem, NY. Not only is this poor angel crippled and cannot walk at all but she appears to be in pain!! And to make matters worse, her tail appears to have been INHUMANELY HACKED OFF!! She is just a baby, only about 3 months old and presently safe with us and being rushed to Grady Animal Hospital. WE DESPERATELY NEED DONATIONS FOR HER NOW!! Please go to www.nybullycrew.org and click on the Donate button or go to PayPal and use newyorkbullycrew@gmail.com. You can also shop our NYBC gear at nybullycrew.org where all proceeds go directly to our rescue dogs. Thank you in advance and please pray for this angel!!

They got her a temporary special harness with wheels and she took a few tentative steps.

They are making sure she is getting properly socialized and she has a red wagon to go out and meet with other dogs.

She’s learning how to take care of business (potty training).

And she’s going to physiotherapy and hydrotherapy. She loves swimming!

After lots of hard work, she can now sit up on her own.

And after just a few weeks, she took a few steps all on her own!

It’s amazing progress in such a short time!

Although New York Bully Crew still doesn’t know what’s wrong with her, veterinarians will be running some tests to see what is going on. Until then she’ll continue on with her physical therapy and inspire her rescuers on a daily basis!

Share Jesse’s story with your animal-loving friends!
