Dogs Rescued From Earthquakes In Puerto Rico Are Now Looking For Homes In U.S.

Puerto Rico has been suffering from a string of more than 2,000 horrible earthquakes in the past month, which has also affected animals on the island.

The shelters have done everything they could to keep their animals safe, but they are overcrowded, damaged, and struggling to secure food and water for the animals.

Thankfully, Brandywine Valley SPCA, along with its partners, have been saving the lives of hundreds of shelter dogs.

Shelter staff waited at New Castle Airport in Delaware with empty trucks for 140 animals who were flown there from Puerto Rico in an emergency evacuation flight.

The plane was filled with dozens of dogs who are now seeking forever homes.

Last month, the shelter partnered with shelters in Puerto Rico and were able to rescue and adopt out 30 dogs. They are hoping to do the same with the newest dogs who have arrived in the United States.

Another 30 dogs are now headed to Brandywine Valley SPCA’s West Chester campus, where they will be examined, treated and put up for adoption as well.

You can do your part by giving these pups a loving home!
