Retired Man Builds ‘Dog Train’ To Take Rescue Pups On Rides

An 82-year-old man named Eugene Bostick from Forth Worth, Texas, found a new calling in life after retiring years ago, and it may be his most meaningful work yet. He lives on a large property where dogs are often abandoned, so he started taking them in to care for them. Once he retired, he had more time to dedicate to them and wanted to do even more for them, so he constructed a “dog train” to get the rescue dogs out and about for some fun! 🙂

The retiree cut plastic barrels and attached them to a tractor to make a nine-cart train to take nine dogs out at a time. Needless to say, the dogs love it, and it has caught the attention of the locals!

“Whenever they hear me hooking the tractor up to it, man, they get so excited. They all come running and jump in on their own. They’re ready to go,” Eugene told The Dodo. “I’m getting up in age. I’m 80 now, so I suppose it can’t last too much longer, but I’ll keep it going as long as I can. The dogs have a great time. They just really enjoy it.”

It’s amazing when people go above and beyond to make animals feel safe and happy! Isn’t this great? Watch Eugene take his foster dogs on a train ride in the video below. 🙂
