Man Dumped His Dog On The Streets, Fearing He’d Catch Covid-19 From Her

A sweet dog was found all alone and terrified in the Redlands outside of Miami.

One of Cape Coral Animal Shelter’s rescue partners took her in and scanned for a microchip.

She did in fact have a microchip, but when they contacted her owner, he admitted that he dumped her because he believed he could catch Covid-19 from her.

They tried to convince him that this wasn’t true, but he refused to believe it and surrendered her to the shelter.

There is currently no evidence from the CDC that confirms pets can spread COVID-19.

The dog, named Daisy, was sad and confused as to why her owner gave her up.

“Those of us in rescue are very worried about the effect this pandemic is going to have on the animals in so many ways,” they wrote on Facebook. “It keeps us up at night.”

Luckily, Daisy ended up in good hands and have since helped her find a loving forever home, where she will never be abandoned ever again!
