Cop Saved Dog Chained To Door, Then Dog Gave Him A Look That Changed Everything

It was what NYPD officer Joshua Sailor thought would be just another day on the job when he was exploring an abandoned building in Queens, New York, but it turned out to be anything but ordinary.

Inside the building was a little puppy who was trapped alone behind a door. To make matters worse, the eight-month-old Pit Bull was tied to the door with a heavy chain around her neck, hindering her from moving more than a few centimeters.

The poor dog was left there with no food or water. She was so hungry and stressed that she ate part of the wall.

She was so badly emaciated to the point where you could see every bone in her body. It was obvious that this poor pup had been trapped here a while.

Officer Sailor took one look at the pup, and his heart melted. The puppy started back at him with helpless, sad eyes. Sailor knew right away that he had to get her out of there.

With the help of other officers, they set her free. Once she was loose, she ran right to Officer Sailor and gave him another look that showed how grateful she was to get out of that awful place.

Sailor fell in love with this pup, and although she was now safe, he didn’t want this to be the end of their journey together.

He brought her to the ASPCA to be examined and treated for her ailments, and then decided to adopt her!

He named her Mila, and the two of them have been the best of friends ever since!

“It was like when you wake up on Christmas morning as a little kid and you see all the presents downstairs,” Sailor told ABC 7. “She 100 percent needed me, but I 100 percent needed her too.”
