A sweet and emaciated Pit Bull/Terrier mix roamed the streets of Middletown, Ohio. Her ribs visibly protruded through her skin, as she was weakened, hungry, and very badly neglected.
Since she had no tag or microchip, the Butler County Sheriff’s Office dog warden asked for help identifying the unspayed animal or her owner on Facebook.

“I cannot be any clearer than this. You abuse, neglect, or abandon an animal and cannot be a responsible dog owner we will hold you responsible. This is not going to be tolerated in Butler County,” Sheriff Jones stated on Facebook.
The very next day, the Sheriff’s Office reported information was given to them leading to the identity and location of the owner.

Middletown resident, 43.-year-old Kyle Hayes was cited with cruelty to a companion animal, which is a misdemeanor 2. The dog is presently being cared for by Animal Friends Veterinarian.
“With the help of the community, we were able to close this case pretty quickly. Mr. Hayes will be facing a Judge on this charge, he’ll have his day in court,” Sheriff Jones said.
