26 Pups Were Crammed Into Tiny Wire Cage & Abandoned In Middle Of Dirt Road

26 dogs and puppies of all different sizes, ages, and breeds, were crammed into a small wire cage and abandoned in the middle of a dirt road in Vero Beach, Florida, without food, water, or proper shelter.

After being alone for so long without these vital things, the dogs grew dehydrated and lethargic, and were completely terrified by the time they were found.

Thankfully, police immediately brought all of the dogs to the Humane Society of Vero Beach & Indian River County so that they could undergo examinations and receive proper medical treatment.

The pups will continue to receive care until they’re ready to be put up for adoption.

Luckily, all of the pups are expected to make a full recovery. If they weren’t found when they were, these dogs certainly would have perished out there in the middle of nowhere.

“Thank you to our amazing team who stayed at the shelter into the wee hours of the night to ensure these dogs each received all of the love and care they deserved,” the Humane Society wrote on Facebook.

The Humane Society is now offering a $4,500 reward for any information leading to an arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for this horrible abuse.

The dogs were abandoned at the 4300 block of 25th St. SW in Vero Beach. If you have any information, please contact the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office at 772-569-6700 regarding incident #21-49824.
